About the Package

The goal of the healthvis package is to make the creation of an interactive graphic as simple as one line of R code for commonly used plots.

Healthvis takes data and results from R and displays them in an online figure generated using d3. The communication between R and the server is done through python. The server is deployed via Google App Engine. Most of the figures this package creates will have sidebar forms with which the user will provide input to update the figure. We create and validate these inputs using jQuery.

Figures created with healthvis can be easily shared with colleagues by either creating a permanent link to the page or embedding the figure in your HTML code. Both of these options are available on every figure you generate.

About the Authors

Prasad Patil is a PhD student in the Department of Biostatistics at Johns Hopkins University with an insanely low web presence that he is working to rectify.

Hector Corrada Bravo is an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science at University of Maryland.

Jeff Leek is an assistant professor in the Department of Biostatistics at Johns Hopkins University.
